Do you blog or journal regularly, have a background in writing, or just a knack for words?  Do you have a crazy passion for EDM and building the connections necessary to keep the music coming?  If this sounds like you, check this out:

We’re looking for a pro Music Reviewer that can author multiple music articles weekly for Dance Music Northwest. You’d take on the role of musical curator and, in general, help direct the day-to-day of music that DMNW covers. We receive hundreds of submissions weekly, and your job would be to choose the best and get those tracks (and artists) out to our readers! You’d also work closely with our Marketing Team on #SongOfTheDay and our upcoming relaunch of Elevation Radio.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • An inexhaustible hunger for crawling the internet and social media in search of the best music and new artists
  • A musical background or intimate knowledge of EDM and its subgenres
  • Intimate knowledge of the dance music scene and its subgenres
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to adhere to standard guidelines while still injecting unique personality
  • Familiarity with the Northwest dance music scene and its key players and places
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress or other blogging platform
  • Basic photo editing skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to self-manage
  • Availability on Tuesday evenings is a big plus (but not required)

If this sounds like your ideal fit, please send the following to jobs@dancemusicnw.com with the subject line “Music Reviewer”:

  • A brief paragraph describing why you want to write for Dance Music Northwest and your favorite EDM artists (And why!)
  • Three examples of previous small-to-medium format writing you’ve published online (if you don’t have this, write us three articles you would write if you were already a Music Reviewer)
  • A copy of your resume or a brief list of your qualifications as you see them
  • A link to your Facebook and/or Twitter (Not required, but we’d love to get to know you a little!)

Think you can help us in a way you don’t see here? Tell us about it! Email jobs@dancemusicnw.com with the subject line “Other Jobs” and tell us how your unique talents and skills fit into our team!
