Overview

Yoshitoshi recordings is seeking a smart, outgoing marketing intern with great taste in music and a knack for social media. Your responsibilities will include co-managing our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts, creating photo, audio, and video content for these accounts, and building our brand and social media following worldwide.

Ideally you are majoring in marketing, public relations, or graphic design, but we encourage anybody who meets the following qualifications to apply. You have a good eye, are great with people, and have a strong social media following. You are well-spoken, a good writer, and naturally find things to do without having to be told to do them. You have basic skills with Adobe Creative Suite and can create visual content.

Ideally you love dance music and have a deep appreciation for classic house and techno records. You do not only listen to what is popular on Beatport and Soundcloud, however you are aware of current trends in dance music. A familiarity with Yoshitoshi’s extensive back catalogue will definitely make you stand out.

Through this internship you will learn about brand-building and the inner workings of a modern-day dance label. You will develop an understanding of the business of dance music, and your knowledge of house music will skyrocket.

This internship will last three months (June through August) and is unpaid. We are very understanding of scheduling around final exams. You will be required to come in at least two days each week. Some work from home will be required. We are located in Great Falls, VA, and are not near any public transportation, so a car is required.

Yoshitoshi Recordings was founded in 1994 by the world famous Grammy winning duo, Deep Dish. The Washington DC-based record label has been a staple in dance music culture since its inception.

It has been 20 years since Deep Dish first founded the label and 16 since they released their critically acclaimed debut artist album Junk Science.
