EDM.com Comedy Writer Internship

Reports to: Senior News Editor and Chief Operating Officer


About the Role

EDM.com is looking for a Comedy Writer Intern to work with our close-knit Denver, CO based team. You should have a strong interest in current events and dance music culture. You must be able to conceive and pitch concepts for video and written content as well as be able to storyboard and write scripts.

Pitching stories.
News dig (google alerts, blogroll, twitter, facebook) for inspiration and ideas.
Write scripts, copy and dialogue.
Storyboard video concepts.
Play a key role in creating viral, bespoke content.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A demonstrable passion for comedy writing (experience preferred).
Must be comfortable with deadlines and quick turnarounds.
Some experience with pitching concepts as stories and storyboarding for video.
A basic understanding of editing software preferred (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator & Photoshop, Avid, Final Cut).
Commit to 15-20 hours per week
Commit to 16-week internship
Provide own transportation
A passion for electronic dance music is a must, as is an interest in pop culture and political and social issues

Students applying for this internship should be pursuing a Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing or similar degree, with experience on the web and a solid understanding of the millennial  market and social media.

It is a requirement of the Internship that you be located in Denver or its more immediate surrounding areas.
