Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Public Relations Coordinator who lives and breathes music, with an entrepreneurial spirit committed to promoting high quality concert experiences for fans and artists alike. This Public Relations Coordinator will publicize and promote events produced by React Presents in the Chicagoland area, including events at Concord Music Hall, the MID, and more. The Public Relations Coordinator will organize promotional campaigns with artists and local media as well as maintain working relationships with regional media. The Public Relations Coordinator will create interesting content for www.reactpresents.com and its affiliate websites. The Public Relations Coordinator will also assist the Media Manager on festivals produced by React Presents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Create and distribute press releases for all React Presents produced events
Maintain contact database and working relationship with regional media
Create engaging content for affiliate websites, email marketing, and social media
Communicate with artist management and publicists for effective publicity campaigns
Manage press requests for all React Presents events
Execute promotional plans through tickets giveaways, etc. with local media, artists, and venues
Organize in-house media teams on a per event basis
Communicate effectively with Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer

Qualifications Profile

Prior work experience in the music industry
Existing relationships within the music journalism community is a plus
Creativity in outlining and executing publicity campaigns
Effective and professional written communication skills
Ability to think ‘outside of the box’ for promotional and publicity campaigns
Past experience with email marketing through the use of MailChimp
Experience with analyzing Campaign performance data
The ability to build rapport and maintain ongoing relationships with a wide variety of people inside and outside your sphere of influence
Works well with the needs of a marketing team.
The ability to recommend process improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or English
Excellent written communications skills
Minimum of 2-3 years of music-related or public relations experience
Proven ability to compose and distribute press releases and analyze data
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of organizing database and contacts
Familiarity with WordPress based websites
Ability to use Adobe Photoshop a plus
