Work Experience
Residential Advisor, Housing and Residence Life                                     August 2015 – January 2017
California State University, Fullerton.

As a Residential Advisor I oversee forty-eight residents and am able to interact and connect with my residents in an approachable environment while learn about them as their own individual, firsthand. I work and collaborate alongside fellow Residential Advisors to organize and coordinate programs within the housing community that will best benefit our residents in terms of lifelong learning, connecting with their peers and self growth. I have been able to become not only their friend, but a beckon of support, encouragement and empowerment, where the residents feel acknowledged, and appreciated. I maintain a healthy living space for the residents, provide a positive living and academic environment, as well as act as a resource of the university.

Peer Mentor, First Year Experience                                                                        August 2015 – May 2016
California State University, Fullerton.

The position as a Peer Mentor for First Year Experience allows myself to build relationships with first year students during their transition into Cal State Fullerton, guide them towards resources offered through the school and share my experience thus far at Cal State Fullerton. I met with my mentees twice a week for one semester in a class setting, coordinated a community service event where my mentees were offered the opportunity to create letters for children in hospitals and war veterans, and conducted one on one meetings with my mentees to better understand who they are as individuals. I also presented interactive activities and exercises with my mentees that promoted academic success, campus and community involvement, along with discovering one’s self.
