Starbucks

7/30/17 - 1/1/18 Barista

Before moving to Seattle, I was a barista in Chicago saving money after graduating college to move out while looking for a career. I worked hard as a barista and eventually gathered up the courage and the small amount of money I had to move across the country to achieve my short-term goal of moving to the Pacific Northwest and start gaining experience towards my long-term career goals.

Joel Cummins

5/1/2013 - present Personal Assistant/caregiver

I have many other experiences, but I consider this one of the most valuable. This opportunity was offered to me by Joel Cummins, keyboardist/pianist from the quintessential jam band Umphrey’s McGee. For the remainder of his parents life, I was by there side assisting them with odds and ends tasks such as bill filing or picking up groceries, but more than anything, I was there as a companion for when Joel was on tour. They became a second family to me and even after his parents passed, Joel is still like a brother to me. It’s also relevant that because of this relationship, I started becoming even more exposed to EDM music because I got free all access passes for all of the festivals that Umphrey’s McGee headlines. Through these experiences, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many artists and learning about the music industry from the inside.
