JOB DESCRIPTION
The SFX team prides itself on building fast, responsive and engaging web applications to connect EDM fans together with the music, artists and each other.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team working on an exciting new music platform! We are looking for someone with a strong background in infrastructure as code, task automation, and a focus on stability and maintainability of server environments.
This is a full time position, and we accept remote workers within the United States!
Responsibilities:
Direct ownership for scaling systems
Capacity management for all environments
Supporting dev and test infrastructure for the team
Implementing best practices (server configuration, security, etc)
Staying current on software updates for technologies in use and determine appropriate timelines for upgrades
Reporting on the state of the infrastructure and making recommendations for change as appropriate
Working closely with the team to ensure the needs of the platform are defined and met
You definitely:
Are an expert in Linux system administration
Have experience with the AWS stack (EC2, S3, ELB, ElastiCache, CloudFront, RDS, IAM, SES)
Have experience deploying, maintaining, and scaling Web applications
Get a kick out of defining and working on infrastructure as code
Enjoy collaborating with developers to design, build, deploy, and evolve sophisticated systems
Have proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, whatever)
Have proficiency with at least one configuration management framework (Chef, Salt, Ansible, Puppet, etc) and have opinions on their relative strengths and weaknesses
Understand the Unix philosophy
Have opinions on the right way to do things, and are comfortable sharing them, respectfully and collaboratively
It would be nice if you:
Have experience configuring, deploying, operating, and maintaining sophisticated relational databases, including replication
Have an interest in, or want to learn more about, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
