JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior JavaScript Developer:
The SFX team prides itself on building fast, responsive and well-tested web applications to connect EDM fans together with the music, artists and each other. Building dynamic and rich web apps is no easy task, and we’re looking for talented JavaScript/CoffeeScript developers to lead the way in pushing our online applications as far as they can go.
About the job:
This is a full time position, working with our project teams on desktop/mobile client-side applications. You will write efficient, well-tested and maintainable code that integrates our RESTful APIs with the responsive HTML/CSS provided by our front-end developers. As a Senior Developer, you will drive the architecture and design of the code you and others write, helping to make technology decisions for the team. You will also provide mentorship and guidance to other JavaScript developers in the organization.
About us:
We write our many of our applications in CoffeeScript and the odd one in ClojureScript.
We only support A-Grade Browsers.
We’re looking for fast-learners who can jump into an existing code base and ask smart questions.
We strongly emphasize testing and use automated tools to build and package our code.
We like to explore concepts like immutable data-structures, functional reactive programming and generative testing to build performant applications that are easy to reason about.
Our developers and designers call the shots on technology.
We’re remote friendly.
About you:
You’re excited about programming and learning new things.
You’ve got a history of successful projects under your belt.
You have good Computer Science fundamentals (data-structures, algorithms).
You understand closures, scope, promises, higher-order functions and function composition.
You have extensive knowledge of JavaScript: You can manipulate the DOM without jQuery and roll your own XHR requests.
You’re excited about ES6.
You may not be experienced with CoffeeScript, but you’re a fast-learner and like playing with new languages.
You’ve worked with RESTful APIs.
You have prior experience with MV* frameworks such as Backbone, Ember, Angular or React and you understand the tradeoffs and gotchas associated with them.
You understand CSS/HTML best practices and have experience integrating your code with existing responsive designs.
You have experience working with command line tools such as npm, Grunt and are comfortable working with VMs and Git.
