We are looking for someone to lead our design team in New York City.

Us

Splice is changing the way musicians create, collaborate and distribute their work by connecting their creation process. We are small but growing quickly, and we are hiring self-starters to make a massive impact on Splice and the producers that use our product. Splice is creating a brand new software paradigm (think dropbox meets github for music producers) and as such, we face difficult design decisions on a daily basis.

We’re co-founded by Steve Martocci (GroupMe) and well known open source programmer Matt Aimonetti (Living Social) both of whom you will work with on a daily basis. Splice is funded by Union Square Ventures along with True Ventures, SV Angel, First Round Capital, Lerer Ventures, Box Group.

You

You have experience working on products from the “what if” stage all the way to “this looks fantastic!”, communicating your thought process and solutions throughout. You are comfortable making decisions with your gut as well as data, and love diving into uncharted interaction territories.

 

Responsibilities

• Work with our PM and founders to set and maintain product vision
• Take ownership of the product and distill that vision into functionality
• Manage the overall look & feel across the product and brand
• Build a cheap knock-off aeron chair in 12 minutes or less

 

Requirements

• 5 years experience designing software
• Past experience leading other designers
• Portfolio showing products that have shipped
