Public Relations Intern

Looking to break into the business side of the electronic dance music industry? Here’s your chance! theoryX is a boutique public relations agency looking for an intern who’s passionate about dance music and willing to go above and beyond to promote our roster of clients. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Publicists in the following areas:

Researching and updating media contact lists

Updating media clippings for company archives and client reports

Drafting and editing press releases

Writing and pitching media

Researching potential clients

Contributing creative ideas for promotion campaigns

Organizing media-related events including interviews, meet and greets, press lists, etc.

Managing agency Google Docs and Folders, including Calendar

Assisting the Social Media Manager with client promotions

We work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects simultaneously, so the ability to work under the constant pressure of deadlines is a must. We are looking for interns who will take this opportunity seriously and are not in it for the party! (Although there is some of that, occasionally).

Minimum Requirements:

MUST have previous writing experience, preferably related to public relations or journalism

MUST be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs
; Quark XPress, Dreamweaver and Photoshop a plus

MUST be available to work at least 10 hours per week
and meet in person once a week

MUST be available some nights and weekends for local Denver events

MUST have a solid knowledge & usage of key social media platforms

MUST be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement and non-compete clause

This is an unpaid position but we will offer benefits such as guest list accommodation to events, college credit and references for future employment.
