About the Position

We are seeking a Public Relations intern with an interest in Social Media. Our ideal candidate is full of creative ideas and eager to contribute on a large scale. The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations and social media field. Must be able to provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom. When the internship is completed you will be ready to enter any fast paced PR / Social media position.

This is an unpaid internship position, and you may count it for school credit if needed. This position could also last longer or lead to full-time employment. The right candidate will have some experience with all items listed below and must have the ability to work on a PC Platform.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 20 hours per week minimum at our HQ in Anaheim CA

• Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.

• Must have sense of humor / creative writing skills.

• Must be familiar with EDM & non EDM publications.

• Solid understanding of the different social networks.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Passion for the music or flow arts industry.

• Exceptional sense of urgency.

• Efficiency at Google docs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily:

• Assist Social Media Manager w/ content sourcing.

• Provide assistance in tracking metrics for social media platforms.

• Help with content creation and scheduling out media.

• Help develop our Rolodex of Media Contacts.

• Establish relations with Clubs all over the world.

• Curate engaging content (Memes, Video editing, Viral content creation)

• Build and update lists and databases.  (PR, Analytics, and Research)

• Help promote events via social media and online communities.

• Research Viral Pages.

• Comment moderation.

Other:

• Think of creative ways to sell Gloves

• Help establish relations with other PR firms.

• Brainstorm Viral Video ideas.

• Work with press releases regarding upcoming music and festivals.

• Write on behalf of EmazingLights for media coverage.

• Research other industries & their communities.

• Learn about blog maintenance.

• Learn about SEO for blogs.

• Create and distribute press releases. (Initial drafts, proofreading, creating subject lines.)
