The kind of person we’re looking for…
Rdio is looking for a Senior Linux Sys Admin to help us architect and grow our server and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will complement our existing team members bringing new and creative solutions to the Rdio environment. Come help us solve hard problems as we scale to handle a growing customer base.
The kind of stuff you’ll be doing…
Maintain a close working relationship with the Engineering team
System Administration (Ubuntu/Red Hat/CentOS)
Help improve monitoring and help identify key performance metrics
Write tools and scripts to provide automation and self service solutions for other teams
Troubleshooting and resolution of server/network issues
Help maintain hardware in Rdio’s colocation facilities
Participation in 24X7 oncall rotation
The kind of skills & experience we expect…
3+ years experience working as a Linux Administrator at scale (hundreds of systems)
Solid experience in Linux tuning and monitoring
Highly organized, able to multi-task, the ability to work individually, within a team, and with other groups
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels
Working knowledge of Configuration Management systems (Opscode Chef / Puppet / CFEngine )
Deployment automation in physical and virtual environments
Working knowledge of load balancing technologies
Bonus experience…
NetApp, Isilon, or similar highly-available NAS technology
Virtualization (kvm, openstack, clouds)
Intrusion detection (IDS/IPS)
Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Force10 in a data center environment
