Overview

The Pastry Cook is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is well stocked and maintained and that all ingredients are there when needed.
Responsibilities:
Safety including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
Ensures that all kitchen equipment and facilities is in good working order and is properly maintained
Ability to work under time constraints and meet department deadlines.
Follow restaurant policies and procedures and recipe standards.
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested by management.
Prepare to order all food items, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
Prep assigned items.
Understands and enforce federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.
Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.
Ability to work in elevated temperatures.
Continuous bending, reaching and twisting required.
Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations and requests while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend, climb and carry objects as needed per business needs.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and manually push/pull up to 150 pounds.
Excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English is a must.
Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.
Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volumes.
Qualifications:
3-5 years recent experience in a position relevant to position applying for.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment as outlined by the Southern Nevada Health District.
Must be fluent in the English language, both written and oral. Multilingual skills are a plus.
Must possess a valid Southern Nevada Health District, Health Card.
Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.
