Overview

The Area Director of IT is responsible for providing a high level of operational availability and stability for both standard network and hotel industry specific technology. The role also entails providing a high level of IT support services to guests and staff as well as 24-hour coverage for the computer systems, either on-site or remotely, depending on business needs.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems, data and voice communications activities.
Forecast technology requirements and upgrades to existing technology to improve effectiveness of installed systems.
Execute hospitality and corporate systems strategies.
Responsible for PCI compliance.
Oversee additional IT team members with regard to training, development and coaching.
Support as needed in promptly answering and accurately logging IT Support Desk calls with regard to issues; escalate calls within appropriate time frames.
Direct calls to 3rd party vendors as necessary, clearly communicating issue and status of support call.
Assist with user security maintenance, creation and termination of accounts, maintain distribution lists in active directory
Audit user access at all relevant sbe properties and venues
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate must have good communication and leadership skills, have a passion for service and have strong interpersonal and team player skills.
They must be able to deal with the challenges of a business that is open 24 hours a day.
Applicants are required to have three to five years’ experience in IT, in a managerial capacity, preferably in a hospitality environment.
Applicants should also have a technical background of MCSE Certifications, and strong PC skills based on Microsoft operating systems and applications.
An IT Degree qualification is preferred, however, not essential with previous relevant experience. Qualified candidates will also have project management experience.
Some specific skills needed to perform the job are: Network administration, PC and network trouble shooting, file server configuration, backup systems configuration, network switch management, Mail Server management, operating system and application software upgrading, prioritization of multiple projects and demands on a weekly, daily and hourly basis, anti-virus and firewall management, hardware configuration and troubleshooting, hotel specific application maintenance and administration.
Must be available for occasional travel for training, conferences and special events.
