Overview

Join the fast paced SXM Corporate Strategy and Business Development group as a key team member in defining and executing on the evolution of our business

Identify and prioritize key strategic opportunities and offering and determine potential partners who could fulfill those opportunities for the evolution of our satellite and digital business globally
Evaluate and provide executive guidance on the fast changing competitive landscape and its impact on our business
Develop and execute business relationships and strategic alliances in order to fulfill strategic objectives – build, buy, partner analysis
Duties and Responsibilities:

Build relationships with relevant potential third parties such as mobile carriers, handset manufacturers, social media companies and other technology partners
Work with programming, operations, finance, engineering, IP, technology and legal groups to identify, develop and execute new business initiatives
Advise the organization on industry trends in technology and media that impact the business
Develop business plans and financial analyses that justify the ROI of various opportunities
Assist in defining and executing the company’s business and market development plans to become a leading provider of programming over various media
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience at a top tier consulting firm, ideally with some media engagement experience
3+ years of strategy and/or business development experience in tech, Internet, media as a content owner or distributor

Outstanding negotiations skills
Have established relationships with media, tech, telco, and content companies
Proven success in business deals in media or entertainment areas
A keen understanding of financial principles
A keen understanding and interest in emerging media trends and players
Financial analytical skills in accessing business arrangements
Good public speaking and presentation skills
Well-developed interpersonal and influence skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to effectively present to and dialogue with senior management and C level executives
Ability to successfully interact with and collaborate with staff at all levels
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong project management skills; can effectively manage and follow through on tasks and projects to successful conclusion
Takes initiative; comfortable with innovation and executing against new ideas
Strong organizational skills; detail oriented
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); advanced PowerPoint skills required
