Overview

Responsibilities:
The Director of Compensation is responsible for a broad range of reward areas. Specifically, this individual:
Manages daily activities of the compensation area. This includes, but is not limited to development of the department staff, administration of compensation policies and guidelines, and providing training and support to the HR generalists as well as line management and senior management as required.
Manages market pricing activities. Activities include the matching of internal positions to external data using standardized surveys for purposes of making recommendations regarding base salary levels, appropriate grade assignment, total compensation opportunity, and/or hiring ranges for a given position.
Must have expertise in assessing the current organizational structure utilizing surveys, compensation networks etc. Also, well developed analytical skills with a background in consolidating job titles.
Must have experience in preparing six figure + deals for high profile executives and experienced in developing discretionary bonus plans and organizational leveling.
Participate in various compensation-related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs. This includes project management, partnering with appropriate internal and external resources, and ensuring that projects are on-time and on-budget, while achieving desired goals and objectives.
Ensure that the administration of various compensation programs are in compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures. This may include programs such as incentive compensation, annual merit review cycle, geographic differential, etc.
Oversee and work closely with the benefits function to ensure that the total compensation and rewards programs are complimentary and meet the unique requirements needs of the business and employees.
Conducts and participates in compensation surveys or special compensation studies for purposes of maintaining the company’s competitive position within the market place.
Partners with the HRIS team to ensure that appropriate measurements are identified and data gathered for use by the compensation department.
Maintain credentials and membership with professional associations to ensure keep abreast of trends within the market regarding compensation issues and legislative or regulatory trends.
Represent SME on Sony United reward initiatives.
Domestic experience a must and international experience a major plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with concentration in Human Resources, Business or Finance
7-10 years experience in the compensation field
Additional experience within the Human Resources profession is highly desired
Microsoft skills include Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
