Killer Tracks, a unit of Universal Music Publishing Group, is currently seeking a Director of Marketing in our Santa Monica, CA office location.

Purpose of Role:

To direct all marketing and communications initiatives for Killer Tracks, a leading provider of production music for use in film, television, advertising and interactive media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop strategic and tactical marketing programs to maximize licensing revenue
• Extend Company’s brand reach through effective advertising, sponsorships, events and public relations
• Oversee Company’s exhibits and sponsorships at industry trade shows and conferences
• Update and expand Company’s main website, various micro sites and additional online profiles
• Manage Company’s social media initiatives, producing original content when necessary
• Plan and execute effective direct marketing campaigns (physical, email, digital, telemarketing)
• Research and analyze market, industry and competition to identify and monitor New Business opportunities and threats
• Generate new business leads to continuously fill sales pipeline
• Maintain critical marketing information inside Company’s CRM database
• Liaise with all internal departments, external vendors, composers and business partners to manage key timelines and deliverables
• Liaise with international offices and sub-publishers to ensure global marketing goals are achieved
• Plan and manage live performances by Killer Tracks artists at Company events, showcases and client presentations
• Create key marketing assets and tools for use by sales and/or International offices
• Create new music cover artwork and product descriptions
• Continuously promote Company’s new and catalog releases
• Provide project status updates and results to various department heads
• Develop and monitor marketing key performance indicators
• Generate and manage annual and project-specific Marketing budgets
• Manage a high volume of internal/external meetings and email correspondence
• Draft and distribute Company press releases and announcements as necessary
• Other duties as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree from fully accredited College or University
• Minimum 7 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 3 years managing others
• Minimum 3 years of B2B marketing or sales experience
• Music production and licensing experience preferred
• Experience managing large trade show exhibits and events (concert production experience also preferred)
• Deep understanding of social media trends and digital marketing
• Website design experience
• Graphic design and product packaging experience
• Video production experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as Photoshop, Dreamweaver (or HTML coding)
• Ability to present and speak publicly in front of small and large groups of colleagues, clients and industry professionals
• Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize evolving workload
• Strong communication abilities with the ability to write and convey marketing plans/efforts to senior executives, colleagues and reports
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information and interact with high-level executives
• Travel required, especially during convention season (January – June)
• Able to work long hours on your feet at trade shows. Ability to lift and move boxes of marketing materials and promotional items.
