Overview
Responsibilities:
• Contribute heavily to the creation, development, and execution of marketing strategies, packaging design, ad campaigns, and tour planning for urban and pop acts.
• Participate in near and long term creative planning to ensure a clear and consistent message for assigned projects while acting as a central point of contact and lead for all assigned projects. Work with all departments in meeting deadlines and keeping a creative thread running throughout the projects.
• Develop and execute creative imaging for marketing campaigns in conjunction with an Art Director. Select and approve visual imagery and creative direction of marketing tools while also overseeing the timely production of commercial and promotional product, including advertising materials, album packaging, videos, retail displays and posters.
• Lead collaborative effort with digital marketing specialists on all digital marketing initiatives including the development of mobile and digital marketing concepts, artist website design and maintenance and the design, implementation and maintenance of social media presence.
• Liaise with artist management on a regular basis and communicate label plans and expectations.
• Create/negotiate and manage marketing budgets for each assigned project.
• Participate in managing release schedule as it pertains to assigned projects.
• Research and evaluate customer needs, industry landscape, and market/cultural trends.
• Identify and analyze new and innovative exposure and revenue generating opportunities for assigned artists.
• Evaluate talent and match with potential audience tastes.
• Oversee the recording, production, mastering, sequencing of artist projects.
• Attend live showcases/concerts at clubs and other venues.
• Providing comprehensive feedback on new music to CEO.
• Review and recommend submitted/solicited demos as well as online material via artist/band websites and social networking sites like MySpace and Faceboook.
• Search for new songs for existing talent on the label.
• Act as label liaison with the artist once they are signed to the label.
• Provide creative input and direction on artist’s material.
• Find suitable producers, writers/co-writers, sound engineers and recording studios.
• Coordinate pre-production and production, mixing, mastering.
• Plan and monitor recording budgets for assigned projects.
• Keep projects within agreed budget and schedule/timeline.
• Evaluate recording and mixing progress for label’s artists.
• Work closely with promotion and publicity departments on scheduling opportunities.
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing team on the planning and execution of online and mobile marketing plans and strategies.
• Work with the Sales department to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Work with International Marketing department to ensure marketing plans and project needs are met and executed on a global basis.
• Help with the planning and execution of artist showcases/listening parties/events for tastemakers and industry personnel.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry insiders (managers, agents, attorneys, concert promoters, radio promo reps, retail contacts, trade and consumer press, tastemakers, etc.).
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of music industry experience, with at least 5 years of A&R experience with a demonstrated track record of finding new and emerging artists that align with Disruptor’s musical offerings/musical direction.
• Prior experience with the different steps in the recording, production, mastering, sequencing and release of a record is required.
• Must have strong knowledge of various genres of music and the ability to separate/identify the commercially viable from the pack.
• Musical/performance background a strong plus.
• Computer skills: Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and an intimate knowledge of the internet.
• A proactive, self-starter who has strong problem solving, social, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional communication and time management skills.
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
• Must be able to work independently but be a team player and flexible.
• Must be able to create and maintain very strong relationships with artists, managers, attorneys, etc.

• Must be available to travel and attend evening showcases as required. Must understand the artist lifestyle.
