Dear Hiring Manager:

As you can see from my attached resume, I have held numerous jobs in a variety of different industries and positions. My most notable mentions include being an assistant manager for two of the largest retailers in the world. However, my moral disconnect from these companies and a desire to do more caused me to venture out and experience more of what this world has to offer.

I have such an extreme passion for music. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with the ability to be an artist, but that hasn’t discouraged me from pursuing music as a career. My first glimpse into electronic music was Tiesto’s album In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza (I was seventeen at the time). It was so different and off the beaten path that it struck a chord with me. It made me curious about the different types of genres and sounds that could be created by a musician.

I went on to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Central Florida but could always feel in my gut that this wasn’t what I was meant to pursue. It’s what I thought I was supposed to do – go to college, get a degree in something related to business then find a job in corporate America. I soon learned that’s very far off from where I wanted to be in life.

When I finally figured out that a career in the music industry was something I wanted to pursue, I thought it was too late. I couldn’t afford to go back to school and learn the ins and outs of the industry, which meant that my chances of ever pursuing my passion were shot. Then along came a person who has inspired me to do more and has shown me that nothing is impossible. Someone very close to me is a musician and since meeting him, my passion for music and desire to pursue this art as a career has grown tremendously.

I’ve attended countless concerts and festivals over the years and have even been given the opportunity to go backstage and see firsthand what goes on behind the scenes – how these events are run and all of the work that it takes to make them so successful. Being at these events motivates and inspires me to one day be contributing to them or the artists that make them possible. Standing in the crowd and feeling the energy of thousands of strangers is exhilarating the say the least. I want to be a part of it, I want to love what I do and do what I love!

I know what you’re thinking though; I don’t have any experience, therefore I won’t know what I’m doing. But at the end of the day, I know what I’m passionate about and that’s music. I also know that I have a lot of strong attributes – I possess so many great qualities that can’t all be put down on paper. I just hope that you can feel the fire in my soul to succeed and make a difference in this world. I have the drive, whit and determination to continually accumulate positive opportunities into my life and I hope that you believe in me enough to help me make that happen.
