Description

My name is Kelly An. My Korean name is Hye Yeon but a lot of my friends call me Kelly, even my friends here in Korea. I am a 23-year-old ambitious music lover who would love to jump into the music industry and spread my potentials. Although I am a native South Korean and have lived most of my life here in Seoul, I also have a lot of experience abroad where I have lived in Irvine, CA, for a few years, a semester in Paris, a summer at Geneva UN, traveled to most places in Asia, been to tons of places elsewhere such as cities in the European continents, Mexico, Australia, and so on.

As you can see, I am a very active student where I like exploring the world and also the diverse perspective of the universe. For four whole years of my university life, I have been focusing mainly on my major, international studies, where I learned deeply about the relations between countries here on Earth and about the globalization, international security, philosophies regarding human and application of it to the international relations, business, economics and much on. However, throughout the years, the most crucial thing that I have learned is the way to look at my life creatively and freely. What I mean by this is that in order to be truly free in one’s life, I learned that I should know how to ‘think’ and to be enlightened.

It really came to me when one of my favorite professors in my major told me that we should really use our brain to think of something creative and fun to do with our lives. We should strive for the things we pursue the most in life, which is music in my case. Most of my Korean friends apply to Samsung and Kia motors just because they don’t think otherwise because it’s what graduated Korean university students ‘should’ do. However, I want to explore more in life. I don’t want to stay in the same place I have been for the rest of my life, not that I don’t love Korea, but I believe I am still young, ambitious, and free to pursue what I want to enjoy. If I work for music and music for the youth, promoting happiness and excitement in their lives, this is what I truly think is worth living for.
