This was the most difficult and rewarding position I have held. Taking new sales-people and over time grooming them into the management core of your business(office), learning the interview process and how to find talent and begin motivating them even in the first interview to produce quality trainees, having daily management meetings to develop your team leaders, running the daily “practice session” to develop your staff, planning and holding daily sales meeting, doing the orientations and in office training previous to “rookies” being field released, and being the steadfast servant leader salespeople need to be successful. Building an office is like building a small( or large) family and teaching everyone in it how to hunt, keeping them motivated enough to want to hunt, and taking every obstacle out of their way of hunting.

I built and trained 5 teams over my 2 years in this position. Learning servant leadership and building positive influence taught me how to develop my teams culture. Starting to see the “pulse” of my team and effectively problem solving issues taught me how to “fire-fight” and reduce negativity. This position was the most satisfying I’ve held due to the ability to get new sales-people “rookies” every week and have a new chance at training someone to become great.

My biggest responsibility in this position was selling face to face to customers off of a pre-approved lead list at their residence. I achieved and held sales records throughout my career at this company. Learning to build rapport in a matter of seconds and overcoming objections quickly were the strongest skills I learned in this position. Learning to control my emotions and protect my mind while in a selling environment was another invaluable skill this position gave me.
