I’ve been entrenched in the world of EDM since shortly after the turn of the century. It all started late in High School when my best friend introduced me to the likes of Armand Van Helden, Benny Benassi and SENSATION BLACK. Growing up in a small town, I was never exposed to any music like that before, but somewhere in my core there grew an insatiable desire to find inventive, new music. Once I got to University, I was really able to reach out and attain much of the music, meeting like-minded people and attending shows, while working on developing my skills as a DJ. After becoming severely sick, I returned to school with a new focus and joined the campus radio station creating my own weekly show. This spurred my love for good, groundbreaking, not top-40, radio. In effort to hone my craft, I attended Humber College’s post graduate Radio Broadcasting program, where I went on to host two new shows, all while learning about production, announcing, writing and sales. Since that time I’ve relaunched my blog “Enlightenment For Your Ears,” updated daily with song, album, and show reviews as well as current affairs, from within the electronic music scene.
